Here’s the final stop on this edition’s tour of our latest news, views and opinions.
We wanted to share how excited we are to be furthering our work with one of our chosen charities, Birmingham Children’s Trust.
The Trust exists to make a positive difference for children, young people and families in the city.
It works with more than 10,000 children and young people every day, many of whom have experienced huge challenges in their young lives.
As you can imagine, the Trust requires a significant amount of support from the local business community to give its young people the best chance of fulfilling their potential in life and in a future career.
It’s why the Trust has launched ‘Develop Me’, a mentoring programme that matches professionals with young people, based on the type of support they need.
Six members of Team OTD have committed to working with disadvantaged young people in Birmingham, through a combination of face-to-face meetings and structured calls.
In preparation, we’ve attended awareness sessions, training events and the programme launch day, and are now ready to meet our mentees.
‘Develop Me’ is a natural extension of our partnership with the Trust and continues our efforts to help children and young people in care, and those leaving it.
