Changing plans in mid-air …

As all coaches know only too well, it makes sense to expect the unexpected. Take our recent assignment to Colombia.

Chris Cummins and Daniel Velasco were on their way to a 100-person sales conference in Cartagena, where their mission was to seed a value selling model on day two of the event.

Expectant delegates were travelling in from Europe, the US and Latin America, including our customer’s vice president.

Midway through a connecting flight to Bogota, Chris received an email from the head of sales training. Some of the scheduled day one conference speakers were unable to attend; could we take their place instead?

This is where the skills gained through NLP really come into their own.

With just four hours sleep, an hour spent in lost luggage and only a short time to gather his thoughts, Chris joined Daniel at the conference a short time after landing.

The session was delivered 24 hours earlier than planned, with a little impromptu salsa thrown in for good measure.

The customer was delighted and the feedback was hugely positive.

We’ve followed up with a series of questions and video clips for delegates, and will be working with the customer to develop the value selling model in full.
