Many of you will be aware of just how much our communities matter to us.
We know that providing meaningful support can sometimes be as simple as a financial donation to a great cause. On other occasions, hard working individuals, teams and volunteers need a helping hand.
Two years ago we crystallised our community giving into a new strategy: inspiring communities.
Its objective was to provide regular, structured support to four nominated charities, working with them to identify how we could deliver maximum benefit.
Our relationships have grown, our support has increased and in many respects, we’ve almost become an extension of what those charities do and stand for.
But what if we could go even further? What if we could provide a forum to allow these four brilliant causes to come together and gain support, insight and contacts from each other? That’s exactly what we did during September.
Representatives of Birmingham Children’s Trust, Edward’s Trust, First Class Foundation and SIFA Fireside joined us for the special lunchtime networking event at our offices in Birmingham.
Hosted by Andy, Lou Roberts, Chris, Becky and Ali, the event focused on ways to collectively overcome each charity’s biggest challenges and bring about positive, lasting change.
We know that each charity benefited from the experience and expertise in the room. It’s an exercise we plan to repeat in the future.
STOP THE PRESS:
We’ve just completed the Edward’s Trust ‘WALK30’ challenge!
We walked, ran and/or moved for 30 minutes every day to raise money for the charity and awareness of the incredible work it carries out in supporting children, young people and families facing loss and bereavement. Our team has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity – thank you to everyone who gave so generously.
