Standing in front of a board of investors can be challenging for anyone.
But did you know that female entrepreneurs only received 1.1% of all funding distributed in the UK in 2021? That’s a record low.
So when we were invited to join a programme that is helping to tackle some of these inequalities, we were only too pleased to lend a hand.
Presenting is a craft, it can be taught and learnt. Just ask the inspirational female entrepreneurs who joined OTD and Vantage for a recent Power Presenter! workshop.
Our Head of Coaching, Lou Roberts explains more:
“Vantage has created the ‘Female Founder Growth Series’, a programme specifically for aspiring female entrepreneurs, that is designed to tackle the gender investment gap,” she said.
“Through eight interactive workshops, female entrepreneurs are given the chance to become ‘investor-ready’, culminating in a pitch event.”
“We were invited to deliver one of those workshops, which was centred on presentation skills and was all about equipping a group of superstar entrepreneurs with the tools and techniques to fulfil their undoubted potential.”
What made the event even more special was that our invitation came from someone who had herself been inspired by joining one of our Power Presenter! workshops.
Lou adds: “The series is spearheaded by Sophie Scoular, who we previously supported in becoming a better prepared and more confident speaker through Power Presenter! It’s an experience she’s never forgotten.”
